The Story of The Laughing Bridge
The name of this magazine has a story, as most names do. What is known now as the Capilano Suspension Bridge was once known by the Coast Salish Indigenous peoples as “The Laughing Bridge.” Its name came from the sound the bridge would make when it swayed in the wind.
The Laughing Bridge Literary Magazine is a student-run literary magazine. We take submissions from NVSD students and compile them into a public magazine, available for our schools to access. Submissions can include things like short stories, poems, art, photography, and more. If you would like to submit, please contact @thelaughingbridgemag on Instagram with your name (both your name on MS Teams and your preferred name, if they are not consistent), grade, and please attach your submission as a link. If submitting a longer text such as a story or essay, please limit yourself to only 1 item. If submitting something like poetry or images, feel free to attach a maximum of 4 items. Thank you!
