The Story of The Laughing Bridge

The name of this magazine has a story, as most names do. What is known now as the Capilano Suspension Bridge was once known by the Coast Salish Indigenous peoples as β€œThe Laughing Bridge.” Its name came from the sound the bridge would make when it swayed in the wind.

The Laughing Bridge Literary Magazine is a student-run literary magazine. We take submissions from NVSD students and compile them into a public magazine, available for our schools to access. Submissions can include things like short stories, poems, art, photography, and more. If you would like to submit, please contact @thelaughingbridgemag on Instagram with your name (both your name on MS Teams and your preferred name, if they are not consistent), grade, and please attach your submission as a link. If submitting a longer text such as a story or essay, please limit yourself to only 1 item. If submitting something like poetry or images, feel free to attach a maximum of 4 items. Thank you!
